Auxo
Acquiring and operating enduring small businesses.
Auxo — the Greek goddess of growth.
Thesis
A generation of owners who spent decades building excellent trades and B2B-service businesses is retiring, and many have no succession plan. Auxo exists to be a good home for those businesses.
We buy established, profitable, owner-operated companies and hold them for the long term. We keep the team, retain or install a general manager, and invest in the unglamorous back office — scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, collections, financial visibility — so the business gets stronger, not stripped. We compound across a small portfolio rather than betting everything on one deal, and we underwrite conservatively: on the cash flow that remains after paying real management, not on optimistic add-backs.
Buy-box
| Purchase price | Roughly $500k–$3M |
|---|---|
| Industries | Trades and B2B services — electrical, HVAC/plumbing, fire & life-safety, generator service, commercial cleaning, commercial landscaping/snow, pest control, security & alarm monitoring, distribution, niche light manufacturing, IT/managed services |
| Revenue quality | Recurring revenue is the #1 thing we value: service and maintenance agreements, mandated inspections, monitoring contracts, multi-year commercial work |
| Track record | 5+ years of operating history, ideally 10+ |
| Team | Management depth that survives the sale, or an owner open to a structured transition — not a business that is really one person’s job |
| Geography | Michigan / Metro Detroit and California preferred; strong businesses elsewhere in the U.S. considered |
| Deal structure | Straightforward and fair; we welcome seller financing as a sign of the seller’s confidence in the business |
| Not a fit | Restaurants and food service, gas stations, passive real estate, pure dropship e-commerce |
